Bluetooth HeadPhone and Mobile Blue tooth Version compatibility

Hi All,
I am planning to buy a mobile which has a Bluetooth Version 1.2. Is this version good to have. Also If I am buying a Blue tooth headset should that head phone be in 1.2 or i can go for Version 2 . Will there be compatible issues.

Help needed immediately
