Cirago BTA-3210 USB 2.0 Micro V2.0+EDR Bluetooth Dongle

so i bought this adapter for my laptop. i am trying to pair it with my plantronics voyager855 headset. but the laptop (xp sp3) does not recognize the headset at all. the bluetooth adapter apparently only picks up devices with (personal area network) PAN enabled.
is there any way to make this headset work with that adapter?
