Default Bluetooth problem

I just bought a Data cable and a Broadcom 2046 Bluetooth 2.1 USB UHE Dongle so I could upload pics from my Cellphone to my PC. Well at first Bluetooth was able to find my Phone but when I tried to pair I was told I must first turn on discovery on my phone. Say What? I had already done that.

After trying numerous times all of a sudden I get an icon telling me a network cable is unplugged. Say what? What cable? Now Bluetooth can't even find my phone and again tells me discovery is not turned on. I even installed the software on another computer and have the same situation.

So I am out $58.00 and have a useless Dongle. I think I will contact the manufacturer and tell them I have their Dongle hanging. I have Googled until I am blue in the face, even found Bluetooth forums and still don't know how to make this fool software work. Does anybody have a suggestion as to what is happening here

there's some misunderstanding, i think.
your pc can still connect to your mobile in undiscoverable mode as long as:
-it knows the mac address
-they once paired with each other
others could not find devices in undiscoverable mode when they do a search. but that is not usually the truth, some app can detect devices in undiscoverable mode also and get their version specification and mac addresses.
