Default Help finding a unusual bluetooth device

Hi,

I've been looking around for a bluetooth device that will pair with my phone and allow me to plug in a 2.5mm external headset w/mic into it. The device cannot use an internal mic or the internal mic should be disabled when an external mic is plugged into the unit. All I want the device to do is have one button that I can press to voicedial/hangup just like the function of any normal bluetooth headset.

The device cannot have a charger that uses the headset jack as I may require using the unit while it is charging. I hope I've explained this well enough but I haven't said what I'm using this for.

I want to mount this unit on my motorcycle and I will plug my phone jack from the intercom on the bike into this device. I will then pair this device with my phone and when I want to place a call I can press the button on the device and voice dial. When I'm done with the call I can press the button on the device to hang up.

I don't need music controls on the device but the closest units I've found is units that have music controls on them.

I've found a couple devices that are close like the Jabra BT3030. The BT3030 would be perfect but it uses an internal mic and doesn't allow for an external one.

I also found this generic device but I'm not sure how it charges. I may be able to use this one if I can't find anything else because I could wire a small power supply in instead of using the battery.

Thanks for any help.

Curt

So you are basically looking for a Bluetooth device that will pair with your phone but has you use your own wired headset for the audio and mic? I'm not sure if there even is such a thing but would be interesting to keep an eye out for it.

Have you tried looking into the BlueAnt speakers?

Also your link for the generic device doesn't work

Thanks for the BlueAnt link. I had not looked at that but I would have to rip it apart and wire a jack to the speaker and mic to make it work for me. However I'm not opposed to doing that.

I fixed the generic device link. They took that product off their site but I found it at another site.

Basically ones that control a music player seem to be the closest.

Your description is accurate though. I want a device that I can pair to my phone but that I can use my own external headset/mic with.

Thanks,
Curt
