Default Can 1 mouse control 2 PCs?

I have two identical Bluetooth mice with their respective receivers. Each mouse is controlling a different PC. When I switch between computers I switch mice. Is there a way I can get one mouse to communicate with both receivers?

I can pair any mouse with any receiver, but I can't pair one mouse with both receivers (or even one receiver with both mice). I'm sure this has to do with Bluetooth setting up a single secure comm link between two devices (thus excluding any other device), but I was wondering if there is some way around this?

PS// I'm aware of KVM switches and the shortcomings of controlling two PCs with one mouse simultaneously, I would just like to know if the above is possible. Thanks

yes i think so, there are bluetooth mouses out there that you can switch frequencies.
so you can switch to another frequency when you want to control another pc and there wont be any interferences.

Thanks EastMobile. Yes, to answer my own question, it is possible because I've just managed to do it! I simply placed the two receivers close together so I could press both buttons simultaneously, then I pressed the button on the single mouse... and hey presto... two receivers controlled by the same mouse. Just the job

If you don't mind, could I see what mouse it is you're using? TBH I didn't even know there were Bluetooth mice out there but I like the idea. How the reaction time on yours and do you know what it's connection range is?

Here it is:

To be honest I'm only assuming it's a bluetooth mouse because it requires pairing. It doesn't say it's Bluetooth, so maybe it isn't.

I bought two of these when they were advertised at £7.50 each. Since I praised them the seller has raised the price slightly, but I still consider them to be good value.

The mouse is wireless and optical, but the resolution is on the low side (400 cpi). Personally I don't find this an issue as it still has per-pixel accuracy on the screen. I also discovered that the mouse is USB compatible, although it doesn't mention this and doesn't include an adapter plug in the box. I stuck an adapter on the end and discovered that it was recognised and automatically installed under both XP and Vista (as it was under the standard PS2 plug).

I like the fact that it's a standard 3-button mouse (wheel=3rd button) and needs no special drivers, because that makes it guaranteed to work in any game.

Range (direct line of sight) is between 3 and 6 meters depending on battery power (i.e. new batteries=6 meters). The manual says 1.5 meters. I guess they're playing it safe. I can't guarantee per-pixel accuracy at 6 meters because my arm isn't that long. I simply noticed that the cursor moved across the screen and the buttons worked while I was standing 6 meters away.

Batteries last about a week. The mouse automatically switches itself off after 8 minutes of inactivity. Synchronization appears to be preserved after the batteries are replaced or the receiver is unplugged; i.e. they don't need to be resynchronized.

It even looks like a mouse and is comfortable to use. Great value IMO.
