Default Maximum transfer rate.

What is the official maximum transfer rate for Bluetooth?

I see some dongles listed as 723 kbps and some at 1 mbps.

I'm going to be sneding data, so it could make a difference.

1 Megabits/s is the underlying data rate for the radio channel (at least
for Bluetooth < 1.2). However, obviously you can't make full use of that
so the maximum data rate you can actually reach is either around 434
kilobits/s in both directions, or 723 in one direction plus 57 in
the other direction.

For the Enhanced Data Rate feature of Bluetooth 1.2 you can roughly
triple those numbers.

Can you point me to some document or article that talks about this "Enhanced
Data Rate" in 1.2?

I'm sorry, I was confused. Of course EDR is a Bluetooth 2.0 feature.
Information is to be found at
https://www.bluetooth.org/info/edr/index.php or in the 2.0 Core
specification at
https://www.bluetooth.org/docman2/Vi...3D90&document=

Informations say the 1Q 2005 but I do not believe for so early...

http://www.bluetooth.com/news/releas...PID=1437&ARC=1
BT v 2.0 was announced first time in Y2K lol ...

My new Motorola HS850 come soon and I don't want to wait,
I think about buying a 1.2 still existing dongle with Widcomm drivers :
http://www.buy.com/prod/IOGear_Bluet.../10387150.html
or http://www.clubmac.com/clubmac/shop/...sp?dpno=424076 .
If you know cheaper and OK to ship to France...

Regardless of the "official" rate, what you get in practise can range
dramatically. eg, my SE T610 would only do 5kB/s to my Apple PowerBook
(uses the Belkin USB dongle internally) while my new SE K700i does
25kB/s.
