Accessing the Logitech Dinovo keyboard

Hi,

I have a Logitech Dinovo keyboard kit and although the software it
comes with is absolutely crap, it connects fine to both Windows XP and
Linux 2.6.5.

I would like to be able to send stuff to the little display on the
Media Pad from my own programs but Logitech, in their wisdom, have not
opened the protocol.
Does anyone have any pointers or advice on how to do this ?
