Angry Pairing problems

ello peeps

I've just bought two bluetooth dongles, I'm testing them at work at the moment and am trying to send a file from one computer to another. I'm having trouble getting it working though. When I send the file a box pops up saying I need to pair the devices and asks for a passkey. I can't find a passkey to put it, and when I enter any old numbers and letters it fails to connect, saying pairing timed out.

Anyone had this problem or know what I should be doing?

Thanks

Default Pairing "smart" devices

With "smart" devices, like computers, there is no fixed passkey. Just put in a number (since some devices don't support letters), and put in the other one on the other computer. This should work.

Hope this helps.

I hope KidFix has now got the pairing to work. I have a related problem which I can't find how to solve, so would apporeciate the help of an expert "Bluetoother":
I can pair OK (iPAQ 2210 with a PC running XP Family Edition for network access), but every time I turn of the PC and turn on again, I have to re-pair the iPAQ. The iPAQ works fine when retaining the pair password with my mobile phone, so it's not the iPAQ. I have tried pairing the phone with the PC, and again the PC won't retain the pair memory on the next start-up. I have been advised several things:
1. enter the Widcomm registry on the PC and set authenticiaction & authorisation tags to zero (done)
2. make sure the PC BT dongle is in a primary USB port, not a hub (also done)
3. Uncheck the power-saving box in device manager/USB root options
But the problem still persists.
Any ideas, please?
