Angry ARGH !!! Mx-900 Logitech BT mouse with IBM R40 thinkpad internal bluetooth emitter

Hya guys. hope I can get help here... here I go:

I have a IBM R40 ThinkPad, series 2722 (Centrino 1.5).

Ok, so the laptop comes with an integrated bluetooth emitter. So the new logitech mx-900 mouse comes out on the market, so i jump on it. here's my plan: use the mouse without its craddle (or just use the craddle to charge it..)

So i already have a BT in the laptop. I turn it on, nothing. I look in the control panel/hardare manager, nothing. I go on IBM.com, grab aa bluetooth software kit, install it. Boom, I now have a Microsoft driver AND the IBM driver, and the microsoft one sais Microsoft [...] driver ON IBM integrated bluetooth. So i grab the mouse, go to wireless connections, bluetooth, add, --> Nothing.

Options: i check the 3 options for detecting, authenticating, whatever. click ok. go back, they're reset. WHAT A CRAPPY MICROSOFT DRIVER!!! I guess i should have bought the microsoft mouse...

My only remaining solution: plug the stupid craddle in the usb slot and have a "craddled" "wireless" bluetooth connection, plus a useless integrated bluetooth thing in the laptop. Anyone got suggestions?

I think the mouse is not in discoverable mode. Therefore only devices that know its hardware address (The base station) can connect to it. I have no idea how to work around this in windows. Sorry dude.

Thanx!... but there's a catch. Twice, now, I made it work. But the moment I shut the computer down, the settings vanish, and it won't recognize it again. Worse, the second time i made it work, i had to reinstall the ibm driver (and have the microsoft one reinstalled over it). Then it worked, but next morning, nada. I don't think i can get to like having to uninstall - reinstall every time i reboot...

Anyways, thank you still for the input... I've tried to uncheck the "enable authorize" thingy... no luck.

Hi NitrODudE,

I have a Thinkpad R50 with the same mouse and it works fine. According to IBM, you cannot use a Bluetooth Mouse or Keyboard with the IBM Integrated Bluetooth Software. You must use the Microsoft Drivers instead. See here for details:
