Default Logitech Mobile Bluetooth Headset - Problem

Hi peoples

I bought a Logitech Mobile Bluetooth Headset, and a USB Bluetooth Dongle,
with specifications matching the headset (ie, v1.1, supports Audio Gateway,
Headset etc).. The main reason why I bought the headset was to use with a
PC, not a mobile. (dunno if I am in the right newsgroup, so sorry.. But
can't seem to find much help about it, other then people who might have it,
and use with a mobile, but maybe also with their PC). But from what I
understand from Logitechs website (in the section for where you can look up
what mobile phones it supports), it supports connecting to a bluetooth
enabled computer. I have also read some forums, which a few people have
mentioned it working on their PC.

My problem is, that it will Pair with my PC, and also Connect with my PC,
but I have no sound. I have followed Logitechs FAQ/PDF files on connecting
it to PC, (where you make sure that the Bluetooth Audio is set in the Audio
properties of the Control Panel, and I also know that when connecting to it
from the PC, I have to push the multifunction button to accept the call type
thing.. ).

When it connects to my pc, I can hear a click, and I can hear that its
connected to something. Likes its not completely dead sound, as if it were
turned off. But any sound from the computer, does not come through the
speaker. Nor does it record any sound from the headsets mic. What I can
hear sometimes, is some crackling, or clicking sounds, now and then, not
regular, but always at random times. (ie not always when I try to play
sound to the headset, or do something specific which is noticeably causing
the clicking).. I have asked Logitech support for help, but then don't seem
real helpful. They did say to test it with a mobile phone, but I don't have
one to test it with, as like I said main purpose was for the PC.

My OS, is Windows XP Pro, with the WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software/Stack.. I
don't normally use the SP1 for Xp, but put it on, and same results. I tried
another 2xPC's, but also same results.

Everything seems to work, like pairs, connects, disconnects ok, etc. But
just no sound. Its brand new, and yeah. Its got me beat.

So if anyone has had similar problems or knows of what it could be, please
let me know!

Thankx.
Wayne

Default Re: Logitech Mobile Bluetooth Headset - Problem

I'm experiencing the same problem with my Logitech headset and an IBM
ThinkPad. The interesting thing is that the headset works with my
other laptop.

I use a Belkin Bluetooth dongle on a Toshiba laptop running XP (pre
SP1 – it has the ‘Bluetooth Neighborhood' icon on the desktop) and the
audio works fine.

The ThinkPad has integrated Bluetooth and is running XP SP1. Instead
of the Bluetooth Neighborhood icon, you access Bluetooth functionality
through 'Wireless Link' in the Control Panel. I can pair the headset
but it doesn't list any services for it.

I suspect the problem is with XP SP1. Anyone else have a similar
experience??

Dave
