No, this is purely caused by the will of the manufacturer to save every
last penny. In general Bluetooth has no problem to support multiple
pairings and even multiple connections, but of course this comes at the
cost of some additional complexity (e.g. you need more memory to store
the link keys, etc.).=20
I own a Bluetake i-PHONO BT420EX which can store 5 pairings. Also: When
listening to music through A2DP e.g. from my computer it is supposed to
still be able to accept a voice connection from a mobile through the
headset or handsfree profile (the music is muted during that time, of
course). I don't own a bluetooth equipped mobile, though, so I've never
actually tried that.
