Default USB adaptor advice (UK)

I'm in the market for a new USB adaptor for use with my WinXP SP2
notebook. Pre-SP2 I used a Windigo-based Blue Monkey adaptor but I
have been unable to get this to work satisfactorily with SP2. Rather
than continue to futz around with different drivers I'm looking for
recommendations for a reliable adaptor that's proven to work happily
with SP2 and (preferably) supports all current device profiles to
extend its lifespan.

Any and all advice gratefuly received.

Al

I have the Dlink-DBT-120 version B4 USB dongle and so far have not been able
to get it to work with Windows XP PRO SP2 or Windows XP Home having SP2. I
have tried their site's SP2 recommendation to no avail. Currently waiting to
here from Dlink's techincal support on an Email I left them concerning the
situation. If anyone has gotten the DBT-120 working with SP2, what did you
do?

I have the same setup trying to communicate Bluetooth to a Tungsten T3. I
followed all the changes on the D-Link web site and everything appears like
they said it would. All except for the fact that it doesn't work. Larry,
if you hear from tech support, please post what you learn.

Tom,
I have yet to hear from tech support but I finally got everything working
by going to the Widcom site and downloading an earlier version of the
software. After that I had to submit the serial number to the web site to
get a god awful long security key. Fortunately the turn around time from
serial number submission to key in my email was pretty fast. I believe I had
to go through the removal of the Microsoft default driver and choosing of
the Widcom driver. After all that, things have actually been running really
smooth. The Bluetooth connections are strong and stable. Why users have to
go through this kind of hassle is beyond me. It seems it would be easy
enough for the Dlink software to determine you are using SP2 and then to
give you a choice of removing the default driver or not. But C'est la vie!
