Default Why can't my mobile headset work with my computer?

Hi,

I am neither a technologist nor a computer expect (see stuff a things
to use or not use) so excuse my ignorance on what follows.

I have a handsfree bluetooth gadget that allows me to use my mobile
phone. It works great. I also have a USB dongle that allows me to
synchronise my mobile with outlook. This works well also.

My USB dongle software has a facility to config a device to act as an
"Audio Gateway". I would like to use my bluetooth headset in order to
dictate to the computer via the USB dongle but seem unable to make it
work.

If bluetooth is "open" and "encourages connectivy", why can't I do it?
Thanks in anticipation.

Well if the headset is paired correctly to the PC, you just select the
Bluetooth Audio input for Preferred input device, and if necessary the
Bluetooth Audio as the preferred output device, and it should work ok.

If it doesn't then more information will be required - like are you using a
Mac, PC with Windows XP SP2/ SP1, 2000, windows 95 etc.

If the audio gateway service is connected then it should work without
problems. Had it working with a TDK USB and both Motorola and SE headsets.

Hope this helps.
