Default NEWS: Ericsson Revamps Bluetooth Division

.. Ericsson Revamps Bluetooth Division
Ericsson has decided to refocus its Bluetooth efforts by folding the
division into the Ericsson Mobile Platforms group. The move calls for
Ericsson to no longer design and develop new Bluetooth solutions, but
rather support its existing customer base.

refocus v.t. 1. to abandon, give up. toss in the towel (businesspeak).

Frankly, I'm not surprised -- when the Z500 was announced without Bluetooth,
I figured something like this might well be behind it. Though way cool to we
early adopters, Bluetooth has been pretty slow to catch on in the general
marketplace. However, much like USB, which was also slow to catch on, I think
Bluetooth will eventually become a Big Thing, and that Ericsson is thus giving
up too soon. Time will tell.

I dont think this is about Bluetooth support in upcoming phones. Also, I
should point out that the Z500 is "Sony Ericsson" rather than just
"Ericsson". There is a significant difference.....
