Default how to reduce range of bluetooth devices

Hello,

is there a possibility to reduce the range of bluetooth devices (laptop, usb
dongle and mobile phone)? i'm interested in a solution for windows (xp) as
well as for linux. a range of 2 meters would be perfect.

best regards
Sarah

It's not bluetooth, but the range is about right.
