bluetooth and different countries

Language barriers aside, are bluetooth items from different contries
compatible? IE, are they operating on the same frequency? Are there any
other standards that may vary by country?

A while ago the French and Japanese would have made this a problem if
they had their way ... but this do not happen. So there is only one
Bluetooth so products bought in different parts of the world all work
with each other.
