Samsung D500 with IBMt40

I have downloaded Easy Studio from Samsungs website and installed it on my
IBMt40 laptop. I am using a Cubix BT dongle to communicate with my D500.
The D500 can connect to the dongle. The dongle accepts it, but when using
the easy studio, the phone stays 'off line'. There is a port for outbound
communication and a port for inbound - but no matter what i do - i stay off
line.
Any suggestions??
