Default motorola v3 and bluetooth

i've managed to set up bluetooth usb okay, have paired pc and v3, and can transfer files to phone no probs. but when i try to receive files from phone or copy files from phone to pc, i get 'unable to transfer' message all the time. phone can see pc okay. wondering if anything to do with services tab in properties of device window - i can only see dial-up networking available, although according to help & support there should be a 'File transfer using the object exchange file push protocol'. am on my 2nd usb and frustrated. thanks in advance. m
