Default Using bluetooth headset with PC

Has anyone succeeded in using a bluetooth headset with a PC? I've got an X-Micro headset, it works fine with my phone (Siemens S55). But when I connect it to my PC, I can only receive audio, I can't seem to send audio? I can't get the mic to work at all...

Any ideas?

i always have this idea.

my company's phone network goes through VoIP, i think it is a Lucent/Avaya system. Avaya sells software that can acts as a VoIP client. and then i can have a bluetooth transmitter coming from my PC. that way, i can forget about the phone on my desk. just use the VoIP software and dial via my desktop and use the bluetooh headset. a software based solution and hands free.

Usually about 6-8 meters I think. They say generally up to 10 meters, but I've never gotten that far. I still can't get my headset to work with my PC, it's rather annoying

are you sure it is not something really trivial like the mic volume is turned off?

Well, it seems to work now. No idea why, haven't touched anything, but it works now.

I couldn't even adjust the volume of the mic... I've been in contact with X-Micro but they can't figure it out either, just seems to be a freak problem of some sort.

Thanks

Default x micro bluetooth headset and xp pro

Hi

I have a x micro bluetooth headset and it works perfectly with my sony t610 mobile.

However, when connected with the pc the microphone does work but extremely bad quality and the mic volume is fixed (greyed out).

It complete headset also does not work with Nokia 6600....excellent support from x micro, here are thier comments....

>The problem is that Nokia 6600 (and all the Nokia phones of the Series 60 platform:3600,3650,6600,7650 and N-Gage) uses the "handsfree" profile for headset communication, instead of the "headset" profile used by the X-Micro headset. This profiles are not compatible, so you will not be able to use this two devices together. You can contact Nokia and ask them for some firmware update. Many users are having this problem (X-Micro is not the only company that uses this profile for their headsets) so maybe they already have a solution

Regarding your microphone volume problem, check the sound configuration for the Bluetooth device, in the Audio Tab and the Voice Tab of the Sounds & Audio Devices icon in the control panel. Set the Bluetooth device as the default recording device and adjust the volume to your preference.
Best Regards

Hello Ed

We have been looking for a solution to this problem on the headset, but unfortunately the "headset" profile is hard-coded on the headset chipset and it is impossible to change it, either via firmware or via software updates.

We are currently trying to reproduce your problem in a Windows XP machine to find a solution to your problem. We are sure the problem is XP related as the problem was never reported on other OS, and the microphone volume control is not grayed out on other OS. We will contact you when we have found a solution.

Best Regards
