Unhappy Wi-Fi 802.11b vs 802.11k on axim x50v - help

I everybody,

At home, I have a linksys 802.11b wi-fi router (for my cable internet). On
my axim x50v, it is slower than a 56k modem.... unusable.

I recently change my wi-fi router for a D-Lynk 802.11g and on my axim it is
more than 10 times faster. Unfortunately, the D-link router does'nt have
enough range to communicate with my other computers at home so I have to get
back to my Lynsys router 802.11b.

So, anyone knw why it is so slow. As I know, the dell axim use 802.11b
protocol.

Thanks for any help!
