Default The Future of WiTooth

Hello All

I am new to forum discussions, so please forgive me if I am breaking any norms or not maintaining proper forum etiquette. Recently I have become very interested in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology. I don’t know very much of the technical details, but what I do know is that it is starting to pop up everywhere. I am noticing a lot more phones and PDAs that have both technologies included. My question is when are people going to start discussing WiTooth? If Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are going to be in everything in the future, people will probably start asking “does this phone have WiTooth technology in it?” What does anyone else think about this? I would love to hear different discussions about it. Is someone going to build a WiTooth chip that has both? Can the two be combined? Is anyone selling a WiTooth product yet? What is the future of WiTooth?

I’m sorry if you see this same posting in different forums, but I just want to hear from as many people as possible. I want to know more about WiTooth. Please forward this to anyone or start your own WiTooth forum.

Have a great day everyone.

There is a new chip the Blue802 (of Silicon Wave), that compines Bluetooth and WiFi (802.11), in one IC, with one antenna.
There is not in the markets yet.
the technology they use is very interesting.
It has some disadvantages yet, but I think that in 2-3 years Blue802 will be a reality.
i have read some reviews for it.
Just google it: "Blue802"
Hope helped.

Default I've never heard of that before

Do you think that there will be more companies trying to combine the two? It seems to me that companies will come out with different products, but they will all be classified under Wi-Tooth technology. It is interesting stuff.

i don't think tha other companies will try it. At least for the next 2-3 years. Because it is very difficult to compine these 2 protocols in one IC.
Just read the reviews and you will understand.
The other companies (in my opinion) will just wait for Silicon Wave to make the first step, and then just make the corrections.

Default Is that how the industry works

Is it pretty common for one company to take all the first steps and everyone else watches to see where they fail and succeed?

it's not right, but unfortunately that's life!!
u must succeed on the others failure!!
Never mind, I think Blue802 will be a revolutionary "protocol", like WiMax!!
