Bluetooth range

Hello,
I have a question about the range of a bluetooth device (a GPS) and its capability communicationg to a tablet PC. The GPS would be no more than 2 meters from the tablet, which is housed in a plywood box made of 1/2" plywood. Would the box be enough to prevent the GPS and the tablet from communicating?
