Default detection via bluetooth?

Hi all,
First time on this forum...really interesting and educational postings here.

I was interested in knowing if there is a way to detect software installed on a handset via bluetooth?

I want to be able to detect from my PC what OS or what sort of media player (eg. real, windows media) is installed on my friend's handset, via bluetooth? I know it is simpler to just take a look at it, but I want to know if there is a program for doing this or if someone can point me in the proper direction with regards to this?

Thanks in advance.

Adam
