It is odd that bluetooth seems to have these little instabilities. I guess that it is still new technology. When I get 'Connection with remote device failed' I try turning everything off, turning everything back on, and then trying again. For a mobile phone I would turn the phone on after the computer has completely booted up. When this fails I delete the device from the bluetooth manager, then reconnect it using the bluetooth connection wizard. Not great, but it doesn't take very long!
