Using two routers

Hi, I have two DI-524 wireless routers. One brings in the internet from a cable modem, and is then wired to my PC. I want to then run a ethernet cable from the first router to the second router in another room, which will then connect to my PS2 and Xbox. Is this possible, going router to router?

This is probably too late by now but here goes...

Just to get this clear, you want to run I'net access from your cable modem to your desktop (wired already) and wifi to be available within the area of the first room (so you're not trapped by the desktop, I presume) and in the second where your PS2 and Xbox is.

I think you need more kit (sorry). Get a cheapo 4 port switch and connect it to the modem. Run a lead from the switch to your desktop and another to the local wifi AP.

How far apart are the two rooms? Have you checked the signal strength from the wifi in the first room when used in the second? One wifi router might be enough. If not run a cable to the second room and plug it into the AP there.

Remember to set the two to different channel numbers - say 1 and 6 (check the minimum in another post or via Google) - and the same SSID.
