Default Motorola V600 and Zire 72 Bluetooth

Hi Everybody:
I am having troubles getting my Zire 72 to talk to my Motorola v600. Apparently there is no driver for this. Any suggestions? Has anybody been able to connect the 2 on Bluetooth? Thanks for your help.

I am also trying to make this same connection and have not found how to do this. Can you tell me or anyone tell me if they have found any information on how to make this work even with a generic BT driver at all?

Default It is possible

Don't know if you have found the solution on your own yet, but I have finally managed to get my V600 and Zire 72 to talk to each other and I am now able to surf the web.

It was a long and difficult process, especially for someone like me who is not technoligically savy. If you are still looking for the solution, either post a reply or email me at drisky7@aol.com.

I'll start trying to document the steps I took.

Default Here's what worked for me

Alright, I was able to get this done sooner than I thought. Here are the steps I took. It's only been two months since I bought the damn thing:

First, if you haven’t already, add your phone to the list of Trusted Devices on your Zire.

1. Go to: Preferences

2. Under Communication, tap on Bluetooth - Setup Devices - Trusted Devices

3. On your phone, go to Settings – Connection – Bluetooth Link – Setup – and select “Find Me” (If you haven’t created a name, do so before you select “Find Me”)

4. On Zire, click Add Device

This should then add your phone as a Trusted Device

I have T-Mobile as my carrier. The most important thing I had to do was sign up for T-Mobile Internet (different from just the T-Zones capability) in order to activate the GPRS ability on my phone. Without this, there's not point in proceeding.

Once the phone is properly paired with the Palm Zire 72, and you have the GPRS capability, proceed as follows:

1. Go to Preferences - Connection

2. Click New... to create a new Connection

3. Fill out the form as follows:
Name: V600 LAN
Connect to: Local Network
Via: Bluetooth
Device: (select your phone from the list of paired devices)

4. Click on Details, and verify the following settings:
Speed: 57,600 bps
Flow Ctl: Automatic

5. Click Ok, then Ok, then Done.

6. Go to Network

7. Click New, and fill out the configuration as follows:

Service: T-Mobile GPRS 2 (my Zire already had a T-Mobile GPRS so I just created a second one with the new settings)
Username: voicestream
Password: [none] (by putting nothing, it will default to the –Prompt- setting. When it starts to connect and asks for a password, just leave blank and click –OK-
Connection: (select V600 LAN from your connection list)

8. Click Details... and verify the following information:
Connection type: PPP
Idle timeout: 3 minutes
Query DNS: Checked
IP Address: Automatic

9. Click Script... and create your login script as follows:

Send: AT&FX1E0V1
Send CR:
Send CR:
Send: AT+CGDCONT=1,IP,internet2.voicestream.com
Send CR:
Send: ATDT*99***1#
Send CR:
Wait For: CONNECT
End:

10. Click Ok, and then Ok again.

11. Click the Connect button, and you will be able to verify your GPRS connection.
If you did everything correctly and have your devices paired correctly, your Palm Zire 72 will be able to access the net using GPRS over Bluetooth!

My phone carrier is T-Mobile (formerly Voicestream). If you have a different carrier, then you will need to change the
Send: AT+CGDCONT=1,IP, internet2.voicestream.com TO
Send: AT+CGDCONT=1,IP,XXXXXXX - where XXXXX= the GPRS access point for your service provider.

You will also need to change the username and password for your provider. I found mine after some serious searching on the web and a lot of trial and error (successful search was under “GPRS Settings for T-Mobile" – be sure to get the settings for the U.S. – or whatever country/region you’re in). You may be able to just call up your provider and find out what they are.

Let me know if this helps - good luck!

Default Making Progress, but still need help.

I followed all 10 of your steps and I seem to be headed in the right direction. I have a V600 Motorola with cingular service with bluetooh capibilities. When I hit the connect key a Service Connection Progress log comes on the screen saying "Signing on" and then it will switch to "Initializing" but no further. If anyone can help with this it would be greatly appreciated.
