Default VX9800 and Bluetooth...no audio???

Howdy all..

This has probably been through the wringer here but I couldn't find any
threads on it.

Just got a VX9800 as my "two year replacement" from Verizon. Now, I'm a
total Bluetooth geek. Been usng it for years and love to play with it,
but this concern a simple use...making phone calls.

I have a drawer full of headsets, so I pulled out my favorite (Motorola
710.) Paired in a second. Push the button, while looking at the phone.
Seemingly correct menu on phone but on headset...nada. Hm. I push the
button again, get the same menu and say "call someone" (as it says on
the menu) and it proceeds to the next screen. Huh? I say "home." and a
familiar megadistorted voice says "home"? By sheer luck I say "yes."
"Dialing," I hear and the call goes through. Huh?

I pair a Plantronics. Same thing. I pair another Motorola, an 820. Same
thing. I was at the Verizon store today and bought a Motorola 500.
Paired it up at home. Same thing. WTF?????

Motorola had no idea what I was talking about, and it seemed like a
phone software issue more than a headset issue so I called LG.

"I have no idea, but I can get a supervisor to call you tomorrow." As a
developer, this sounds like a pure software bug. But you guys discuss
this a lot more than I and maybe can make me happy.

Do you get the same thing?

Is there a fix?

Thanks a lot!

Replying to myself, but I spoke to one of the lead engineers and sad to
say, no audio on Bluetooth commands is standard. They couldn't get it
to work properly on 2.4ghz, so unfortunately until a software fix is
released. no audio reply upon a Bluetooth command is, for now, the way
it is. Too bad, because I do love the phone. He did say they were
working on it, but no immediate fix was even on the drawing board.

Doh!
