Default Palm tungsten w...

hey all...
i have a palm ungsten w - it has gsm and gprs.....and a compaq nx9010...it has wifi, infrared..
i travel quite often to the country side 1ce in 1 or 2 weeks....each trip is over 1000 Km drive + the hotels charge a lot for dial ups...
on the way i have access to the net and email thru gprs on my palm....
now, i want to use the net on my laptop....so how can i use my palm as a router thru infrared or i dont mind purchasing a SD wifi card if that solves the purpose....

tx in advance.
devil dog...

well, i know in theory, you can set up an "adhoc" wifi connection between your palm and laptop, and then dial in. the problem is now to have the palm acts as a bridge between the two networks. ie. just like the broadband router, the palm will act as a NAT and your laptop will be in the private network. it should only be a software thing.

i use SnapDialer when i travel with my laptop. i connect to my cellphone via USB. SprintPCS Vision is a 2.5G network and i get around 150k bandwidth with my cell phone. i checked though, SnapDialer doesn't support the palm.

ive ceen loads of apps which let the palm use the net from a pc...thru infra red....usb...bluetooth...wifi ....but not the reverse...
if ne1 finds out something usefull then pls post here....im sure there r other ppl having similar issues....
i guess gprs is around 40kpbs or so....using palm on net cant actually push it to its limits...

tx
