I need help improving wireless internet reception!!!

Hello! If anyone knows if theres a way ti improve the wireless internet recpetion for a laptop?
The problem is that i live an apartment very close to the university where i study. The university have antenas for the wireless internet of the students. My computer recieve the signal of the wireless internet but very low and i want to know what can i do or what can i buy for improve the reception of the wireless signal for my laptop. Hi Joel,
you could try using a wireless PCMCIA card that accepts an external antenna. Something like the Buffalo WL1-CB-G54S - this accepts antennas with a Lucent or MC connector. The gain of your laptop's internal Ant is probably around 2-3 dBi, using a higher gain semi directional antenna would make your life a little easier. Seeing as you're a student you should have a look at this guide on how to make a "cantenna" just get a MC connector cheap of ebay and cobble one of these together!
