Default Direct wireless connection????

I have a desktop and a laptop, both with wireless. Is there a way to set up a wireless connection between the two, without a router, so that I can send files between the two? Like a direct connection.

Default Direct wireless direction

Set the type of network to AD-HOC in the settings for both cards on both computers. AD-HOC is a peer to peer network without an AP.
