Can a PDA remotely control a desktop PC app?

A shot in the dark - but here goes!

I am looking for a PDA that can control WinXP via wifi.

I basically wish to control an .mp3 music player (and its playlist/volume etc) based on a desktop PC via a wireless connection and a small device (i.e. a PDA as a tablet PC is too large.)

Can anyone offer any suggestions at all?? (any PDA/software considered!)

there's a terminal services client with Windows Mobile 2003 for Windows server and Windows XP.
