Problem with file sharing - please help!

Dear anybody

I have just installed netgear router. One desktop pc with Windows XP prof and one laptop with Windows XP home. Can see network places on laptop as well as the computers that form part of the workgroup (workgroup is the same on both computers and both computers have own name). I cannot do this on the desktop pc. Cannot see network places and cannot see workgroup. A window appears saying that I do not have access rights and I need to contact the administrator.

Any advice will be much appreciated.
