Can a class 1 talk with a class 2?

I find myself in posession of a Palm Tusgsten T3, and I'm pretty sure it has a class 2 (10 meter) bluetooth.

My question is: can I buy a class 1 (100 meter) usb bluetooth thing for my computer that will it be able to connect from the class 1 range rather than the class 2 range?
