palm desktop software problem
I use the Palm Desktop software as a database, without synching to the CLIE. My old computer at work runs on Win98, and I just got a new one with 2002 XP Pro. I moved all my data files out onto the network drive (P), including the palm desktop by just copying the whole program. The computer guy who came in to set me up on the network tried to transfer my files from the old to the new, but it didn't work. He was copying and pasting so quick I couldn't keep up, and before I knew it, he had my palm desktop running with no files (still on the old computer). I begged that he just find my files and put them back on the old one so I could use them. That's 9 months of data that I depend on to do my job!!! He managed to get some of my files back, but the latest data is missing...nothing on there after 8/11. 8/31 was the date I copied the program onto the network drive. I got the original CD today and installed the palm software on the new computer. Now I need to get back my original files. The software on the old C drive is usable, but not complete. Is there a way to go back and retrieve ALL my data files that I copied on 8/31 and transfer them to the new machine? I tried using CLIE MIGRATION 1.02 to move files from the P drive to C drive on the new computer, and they come up empty? My boss suggested I restore the old computer to 8/30 (when I know my files were complete), but I don't think Win98 lets me do this. Would GoBack work if I had a copy of it? I so much appreciate anyone's help with this dilemna!!!
