IPAQ PDA Wi-Fi connectivity problem

I have a problem connecting an IPAQ/PDA hx2415 (built in wifi) to my home wireless network. I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router with WPA turned ON. I can easily connect a wireless laptop without problems. However, when I try to connect my IPAQ to my home network, it stays connected for only 10-12 seconds and then gets kicked off. During this very brief (10-12 second) period, the signal strength is "excellent", but I cannot get on the internet. I have tried every possible configuration on my IPAQ, but it will not stay connected for more than 10-12 seconds. My IPAQ has no problem connecting to my neighbor's unsecured networks and to the unsecured wi fi networks in the large building where I work. I can easily surf the internet on my IPAQ at work.

I have tried turning the MAC filter off (currently on with the IPAQ number added to the filter), but it makes no difference.

I think the only thing I haven't tried (and REALLY do not want ot try) is to turning off the WPA security feature on my router.
Any advice?
