pairing issue

i have a bluetooth transmitter and a bluetooth headset of different brands. my problem is it wont pair. is there something i can do to make these two devices pair? the transmitter is a bluetake stereo bluetooth transmitter and the headset is an i.tech bluetooth stereo headset. please help
