Problems with Serial Communication for Toshiba Stack

I am using a Bluetooth barcode scanner using serail port profile on a Dell Latitude with Toshiba stack ver. 4.00.22. When the system goes into standby mode or loses the Bluetooth connection the COM port connection times out and has to be restart/re-toggled. I have used the scanner with a Widcomm and Microsoft stack and do not have this problem.

Also with the TB stack you cannot see the BT COM port. Any help with this would be helpful.
