Carputer as hands free device

Hi, I have my carputer all set with bluetooth and paired with my xda mini with audio gateway, when I get a call or make one the audio comes through my car speakers which is where all is ok, The problem I have is, I have a usb microphone but it will not allow me to talk to the person on the phone. Have I missed something or is this just not possible.
