Default Spoofing the WIRELESS MAC address

I'm at a college that will be launching a wireless network that has the capability to detect any unauthorized wireless access points and apparently DOS the hell out of them (not sure how the devices do this, but I'm not sure that encryption + no SSID broadcast + MAC address control would stop it) to render them useless. Is there any way to spoof the MAC address of my wireless router (D-Link DI-524 or a Linksys WRT54G), as I know that the college's wireless APs ignore other systems that have the same manufacturer code as their MACs when looking for rogue systems.

Watch the date to drop from a course without a failing grade. You may need to know that date when you are expelled.

Why are you trying to connect illegally to a system? Surely students are given secure access by college IT department.

No, I'm not trying to illegally access the system - I already will have access to it. Here's the situation:

My laptop's NIC is dead, so the only way I can get network access is through wireless (I am not paying extra money to repair the NIC or get a PCI NIC for it). I also have a Desktop computer. I easily want to transfer files & communicate between the two (I have a neat fake dual monitor program that is basically a software KVM) over LAN. Once the school launches its own wireless system, their APs will basically DDOS any wireless access points that they find (by finding wireless MAC broadcasts that are not from the same manufacturer). I need the ability for my 2 computers to work over a LAN, and the school's wireless & wired network won't work for that. Therefore, I need a way to keep my own router running.

I'm not trying to illegally access any system that I'm not entitled to access, nor am I trying to do anything unethical... I'm just trying to keep my laptop & desktop working as they have.

Surely the easy way is to use a USB-ethernet adaptor on laptop; from about $10. Then you can use router for wired LAN between your PCs. I know you don't want to spend cash but $10 to $25 isn't much.

I guess the money isn't much, but I'd also rather have the experience of hacking my very hackable WRT54G
