Question BT File Transfer

Yesterday I installed a BT USB Dongle (BT v1.1 & v1.2 compliant) in my WinXP Pro (SP2) PC. My main intention is to transfer files from my PC to my Motorola A1200 mobile phone & vice-versa.

I could make my PC & mobile communicate with each other using the BT Dongle but the software (named BlueSoleil from IVT Corporation) that accompanied the BT Dongle doesn't give me the option to transfer files.

After connecting my PC to my mobile, the software gives the following options: BT Personal Area Networking Service, BT Dial-Up Networking Service, BT Serial Port Service, BT LAN Access Service, BT File Transfer Service, BT Information Synchronization Service, BT Object Push Service, BT Printer Service, BT Human Interface Device Service, BT FAX Service, BT Basic Imaging Service, BT AV Service & BT Headset Service. Out of all these options, only BT Dial-Up Networking Service, BT Serial Port Service & BT Object Push Service are enabled; the rest remain disabled.

What do I do to enable BT File Sharing Service? Please note that my mobile has file sharing capabilities.

In fact, I transferred a couple of files from my mobile to my PC using the BT Dongle but I don't know where they got saved in the PC but during the transfer, both my mobile & PC display a message saying that the files are being transferred to the PC & after transferring, both my mobile & PC display a message saying the files have been transferred to the PC successfully.

Also after establishing a connection between my PC & mobile, the software lists my mobile as an icon that has been connected to. When I right-click this icon that the software lists & select Properties, WinXP crashes with the following STOP error:

A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damages to your computer.

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: BTNetFilter.sys.

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xE1171000, 0x00000001, 0xEF8DC7A2, 0x00000001)

*** BTNetFilter.sys - Address EF8DC7A2 base at EF8DC000, DateStamp 41c14834

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.

What could be causing this error & how do I overcome it?

I am an absolute BT newbie; so just don't have any idea on how to resolve the two issues.

Thanks,

Ron

OK.....friends....I could manage to send files from my PC to my mobile & vice-versa & could also locate the directory in my PC where the files are being saved in my PC when files are sent from my mobile to my PC (using the Object Push Service) but I still have a question along with the WinXP crash problem.

How do I change the directory (in my PC) in which files get saved when files are sent from my mobile to my PC?

Ron

I think you should follow the below steps:
  1. Configure the parameters for the object push. From the Main Window, click My Service | Properties. Click on the Object Push tab.

Figure 1: Object Push Service Configuration
  1. Start Object Push service. Do not initiate a connection, only start the service so that your computer will be ready to receive objects.
  2. Send objects from the phone. For instructions, refer to your phone's user documentation.
