Post Can one chip run both WiFi and Bluetooth?

WiFi and Bluetooth both run on the same frequencies so couldn't you have one chip do both. Or for that mater could you alter a WiFi receiver to also receive bluetooth(or Vice-versa)? To me it seams like a software thing or is there some Hardware restrictions I don't know about

The answer to the second part of your question is No. WiFi and Bt are totally different systems. They both run on the same "band" but use different "frequencies" and occupy different bandwidths. To the first part, yes, you can have them co-exist on the same chip along with other stuff too. to learn more go to http://bluetooth.com/bluetooth/
