Default About EDR2.1 Simple pairing

Dear all:

I have a question about what kind of pairing procedure after ACL link establishment complete. Traditional pairing , Simple pairing or there will have a variable to decide which one would be used?

Here I guess that it is not mandatory to do simple pairing since remote device may not support simple pairing.

By the way, how about during the connection setup procedure.
Can we provide simple pairing instead traditional pairing?
This is not talked about in EDR2.1 specification.

Thanks.

Beast Regards.

Could you please specify what is the traditional pairing you are referring two. Devices which support EDR 2.0V do follow the traditional one. That is the 4 digit pairing process.

A 2.0 complaint blue tooth device still expects a 4 digit authentication while talking to a 2.1 complaint blue tooth device.

Kindly let me know this answers your question.
