Convert Bluetooth to WIFI and Back (Bridge)
I have an HTC Touch (CDMA) with unlimited data in Canada. When I travel outside Canada I now have no cost effective option for data coverage, and the phone doesn't have WIFI built in. There is talk about a Spectec WIFI Micro-SD card however they aren't available and also require removing the existing memory module from the single micro-SD slot, which is limiting and also a pain in the butt as the case needs to be opened and battery needs to be removed each time you switch card.
I would like the ability to connect to WIFI hotspots as needed when I travel. I am wondering if there is some kind of portable device that I can use that my phone will connect to via Bluetooth, and then that device will connect to the WIFI hotspot. Keep in mind that these will be private networks that I don't have access to so the solution will need to behave as if I have a WIFI card connected directly to a device (i.e. I will not be able to mess around with their network or connect directly to their switch/router etc. via cable).
Let me know if anyone has any pearls.
