Default NOKIA 6230 -> RTSP -> CIngular suxx. | Subscribe to GPRS first

Hey,

1. Did any lucky user of Nokia 6230 phone tryed and got to listen to
RTSP stream - which this phone's media player can play over GPRS?
2. This problem with NOKIA - "Subscribe to GPRS first". Do u know what
solution is? Lemme tell you - first let me mention how DUMB customer
care is and tech. support might be too.
So in case you want to use Nokia as GPRS modem - u set it up as
Cingular tells you in that Data Connection PDF file, BUT IT DOESN'T
WORK!!! Nokia connects and gives you "Subscribe to GPRS first". U call
611 - and a black woman on the phone says " I ain't know what to do
about it...", how about switching to tech dept? But she was told never
transfer a call higher then her superviser - so she makes you hang up.
Now after i mention all that - let me tell you how to fix it, even
Cingular will never hire me:
1). Your modem init string should be: +CGDCONT=1,"IP","WAP.CINGULAR"
2). Make new connection usung your Nokia GPRS / Standart modem over
IR/ Bluetooth and put user name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM and password:
CINGULAR1.
Here you go - now dial string is *99# and you are online.

P.S> I'm still waiting for EDGE in NYC area.........

Leshka, although your information will surely help someone your poor
spelling and and grammer make it awfully hard to understand.

Hopefully the resulting irony of your racially oriented comment has not
escaped you.

You're gonna be waiting an awfully long time. The acquistiion will
take some time and AT&T will still be able to act as independent
company for months thereafter.

So unfortunately you'll have to deal with T-Mobile's crap service

A few months.

ATTWS will actually be entirely under the control of Cingular from the moment
the merger closes.

>So unfortunately you'll have to deal with T-Mobile's crap service

I expect Cingular to enable roaming on ATTWS shortly after the merger closes.

Wishful thinking.

Regardless, AT&T Wireless or ATTWS as you refer to it will still be in
operation for at least 6 months after.

I doubt it.

Widely held view in the industry.

Only as a brand, and for no more than six months, per the recent agreement
with AT&T (non-wireless). I expect most of the re-branding to be completed
well before the six month deadline.

Cingular has agreed to sell its 1900 MHz spectrum in California to T-Mobile,
which would seem to make it clear that Cingular intends to transition its
subscribers to the acquired ATTWS network.
