Default Bluetooth

I don't know much about Bluetooth but have a problem. Bluetooth is installed
in my car. I had a Sony Ericson T610 mobile and as soon as I switched on the
engine it would automatically connect.
Unfortunately I lost the phone on holiday in Europe and had to buy a new one
so I bought a Sony K750i to replace it.
Now however much I try I can't get the phone and car to link up. As I bought
it especially for this reason it is frustrating and annoying. Any ideas
please?

You didn't mention what car you have, but perhaps there's a manual, or
a bit of googling may help. Likely there's a button on the car you
have to hit to have it pair with your phone.

Thanks for the reply. No button as far as I know. Anyway my T610 just linked
without me doing anything and I can find no mention of any procedures to
initiate linking.

You might have your phone search for a bluetooth device when the car is
turned on. Once the phone finds that car's bluetooth, it may ask for a
four digit passcode. The passcode is either 0000 or 1234 or could be
9999. Give that a shot.

Good luck

Sorry about the delay in responding. Thanks for the suggestion but I have
tried that several times but no luck. I have the pass key but doesn't help.
I know the phone is OK as it connects to other Bluetooth devices. So I'm
lost really.

Hey Peter,

You can download these instructions from the following website. Follow
the one for T610, and also it looks like the passcode is 1212.

Good luck

Thanks again but I still have no luck. I even went to the local store and
had the phone connection demonstrated to me using 4 zeros but when I try it
at home it doesn't work. Strange!

I think what I need is a means of checking what is stored in the phone and I
don't know how to do that. And I'm not familiar with the registry of my
computer. I'm very reluctant to go in there as I once followed some very
well intentioned advice and deleted the whole registry. So I have never been
back.
