Default BT and power consumption V3

To what degree does leaving BT on increase power consumption on the V3 when there is no BT headphone paired with it ?? This is in preparation for using it with a BT wired fone in my home which will let me call out via BT-->cell or via landline from any wireless extension (Uniden ELBT595). I wonder if I'll hafta get a desktop charger for it and I also wonder if I'm gonna hafta shut off the BT when I leave the house ???

I'm pretty much ok with a headset. In fact my ear wears out long
before the V3 battery.
Sitting on my desk "connected" to moto tools the battery seams to go
down pretty quick.
