I find the fact the battery discharges while connected to MPT to be confusing...my USB cord charges the fone while I am plugged into it and during MPT use as well ...maybe your cord isn't the same ...the feature is good and keeps my fone ready to rock and roll !!

That would be a Bluetooth connection for MPT, not the USB cord, discarging
the V3.
