Default Simple questions regarding bluetooth

I have a simple question.

If I buy a headset that states it has a range of 10 meters and I buy a
dongle that says it has 25 meters range. What will actually be my
range? ???

Thanks

Somewhere between 10 and 25 metres, maybe more.

I had a bt headset and dongle that said 10 metre range. I got more
like 20.

That's just estimates, just like the car you bought said 25 MPG city,
and sometimes you get 20, sometimes 30.

The limiting factor is that the first device has a weaker transmitter, and
thus you will never exceed 10 meters.

Now, also remember that the ranges are theoretical good case scenario's, you
could get a little more, or you could get significantly less, but either
way, in your case, the limitation is the weaker device and 10 meters is an
estimate.

Close!

The limitation is actually the reciever sensitivity, I have seen many
well designed Class2 Bluetooth devices exceed 20m, however there are no
many of those companies do so.

The 10m is an approximation in any case. If you are buying a cheap
product you get what you pay for and will not get 20m range.
