Default Connection lost - Z600/HS801

Can anyone provide an idiot-proof guide to setting up my SE Z600 to connect
to a Motorola HS801 headset?

I can pair the devices. I can connect to the headset. But after 15-20 seconds
get a 'Bluetooth connection lost' message.

Is there something wrong with the setup that is not obvious?

How can/should I set up for handsfree use of the Z600, AND maintain the
connection?

Any help is much appreciated.

DG.

Apologies for cross posting (alt.cellular.bluetooth) but absolutely no
reaction there.

Since you're able to get them paired, my guess is that you're either got a
compatibility problem or device malfunction. It might help to make sure the
Z600 has the latest firmware.

The official reply received from SE is:

###

The main reason the headset may fail to connect is the incompatability
between the Sony Ericsson phone and the Motorola headset. Sony Ericsson only
test their own headsets with standard SE phones.

###

No real surprises there.
