Default Bluetooth Network with Win2K on NT Domain

Hi All,
I am trying to get my iPAQ Pocket PC to browse the internet by connecting to my NT Domain at work using a Win2K PC. I can browse HTTP services running on the Win2K PC, but cannot seem to connect to any other HTTP or PROXY servers. I have setup Internet Connection sharing on the Win2K PC, but not sure if I have got it right. (Do I need Network Bridging ?) Can anyone help ?

Tnx in advance.

no. don't setup network bridging, that's a deadend when i tried it.

it looks like your bluetooth sub-network is working. what IP address do they have? what IP address is on the other interface (ethernet/internet side). did you share the ethernet interface? you need to share that instead of the sharing the bluetooth interface.

you are getting quite close.

Hey thanks for that. I managed to get it going eventually.
The final detail that got it going was having to specify the IP of the PDA in the Internet Connection Sharing Settings for the HTTP services on the PC for the internet/ethernet network connection. I manually specified my DNS,WINS,Default Gateway and proxy settings in the PDA and on the Bluetooth PC Network connection.

How cool it was when the ever familiar GOOGLE search page appeared !!

HI, i came up with the similar solution as you, by explicity setting the static IP address for both Bluetooth interfaces.

however, i didn't need to go through proxies to get onto the net.

i wonder if there are more elegant solution than manually setting IP addresses. that just doesn't seem to be too convenient. perhaps the PC should have a DHCP server serving only the bluetooth network.

i do notice that the bluetooth network must be on a different subnet than the other network that the PC is on. otherwise the Connection Sharing routing won't work.

I noticed a lot of bluetooth access points come with DHCP servers on board.

But it is a relative rarity, and does not work for the solution of using just a USB dongle.
